Saint Elisabeth of Thuringia is the patron saint of the Bruges Beguinage.
Following the upcoming 8ste centenary of the Bruges Beguinage, Bruges Foundation, in collaboration and with the financial support of Guides with a Heart, restored the statue of Saint Elisabeth located above the entrance gate to the church. Guides with a Heart collected funds for this through their annual summer activity in favour of Bruges' heritage.
For this restoration, Bruges Foundation obtained the agreement of the Bruges city council, which owns the beguinage church. Work will start as soon as the necessary preliminary examinations have been carried out and approvals obtained.

THE TOTAL COST OF THIS RESTORATION IS ESTIMATED AT APPROX. EUR 200,000.
